    The Spirits were led by the duo of Allision Wakefield and Olivia Kleven, who combined for three first-place performances in the meet. Wakefield laid claim to the top spot in the 400 freestyle, after streaking down the pool in a time of 6:22.58, marking the best finish of her collegiate career.

    The Salem swimming team split a dual at Greensboro College on Saturday, Oct. 26, by earning a 78-19 win over the host Pride, resulting in their first team win this season. The Spirits, who also competed against Lees-McRae, suffered a 134-49 setback in the event.

  • Kleven Wins 100-Yard Breaststroke in Solid Day for Salem Swimming

    Oliva Kleven became the first Salem individual to capture a race win, since the program’s return to the pool. She took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:19.35, just over five seconds better than Ally Swain (William Peace), who closed in a time of 1:24.79.
  • Salem Swimming Heads to William Peace on Saturday

    After a two-week break from action, the Salem swim team returns to the pool when it heads to the North Carolina state capital to take part in the William Peace Double Dual on Saturday, Oct. 19. The event will take place at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Raleigh, beginning at 3:30 p.m., featuring competitors from Salem, William Peace, Sweet Briar and LaGrange.
  • Spirits Place Seventh in Guilford College Invite

    The Salem swim team completed its return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 5, by finishing seventh at the Guilford College Invitational held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The Spirits, who finished with 55 points in the day-long event, had four individual Top-15 finishes and one Top-10 team outing (seventh) in the 200-yard medley relay.
  • Swimming Returns to Salem on Saturday in Greensboro

    After a 3,522-day gap since its last collegiate swim meet, which came on Feb. 12, 2010, Salem College will return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 5, when the Spirits take part in the Guilford College Invitational at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC).
